My Story

When I founded Salt Springs Informatics seven years ago, I wanted to provide a life-sciences consultancy that could deliver staffing and expertise to meet a full spectrum of needs for clients, whether it's helping articulate a need, drive progress, author key deliverables, coordinate with vendors, provide industry and domain insights, or just solve thorny problems and ensure things absolutely, positively get done effectively and efficiently. I'm able to do this by virtue of the experiences and expertise resulting from a unique career arc:

  • 20 yrs delivering consulting services for the life sciences industry (deploying and validating SAP, quality systems, LIMS, batch review & release, imaging, complaints/AER management, and a wide range of quality and regulated IT systems, including med-device validation), spanning small molecule, biotech, med-device, radiopharmaceutical and consumer-packaged good clients.  This has also included system/data migrations for mergers/acquisitions.  Client base ranged from small start-ups to some of the largest life-science companies in the world, in projects spanning North America, Europe, and India.

  • 5 yrs overseeing and building lab automation solutions for in-process testing & product release testing with a global biologics Center of Excellence.

  • 5 yrs overseeing enterprise-level software engineering, interface-protocol development, hardware builds, and data center implementations w/ one of the earliest internet hosting and application services providers

  • 3 yrs of business process re-engineering, working w/ a PricewaterhouseCooper's MCS team & reporting to C-level client management

I'm an active member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), focusing on the GAMP Computer Software Assurance,  GAMP Data Integrity, and Project Management Special Interest Groups.
